Platform-native monetisation is frictionless for viewers who already have an account and a balance, and it is genuinely good at what it does. It also only exists on that platform, at that platform's rate, under that platform's rules.
An external donation link covers the rest: the viewer watching logged out, the clip that travelled to another site, the Discord regular, and the version of your channel that lives somewhere else in two years.
